Inside Morgan | Drone tour of the Morgan car factory production line (Video – MMC)

[Thanks to MOGSouth member Bennett Shuldman for alerting me to this video. Mark]

Per the MMC – ‘For the first time ever, a drone has taken flight around the historic home of Morgan at Pickersleigh Road. The 108-year-old factory – which welcomes around 30,000 visitors each year – is famed for being home to the production of the Morgan Plus Four and Plus Six, and will shortly be the site where the company’s all-new three-wheeled model will be produced. Viewers are transported in a one-take shot of the production line, moving through the Chassis, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Wood, Trim, Final Finish and Paint shops, before finishing in the Pre-Delivery Inspection department. Eagle-eyed viewers will spot a special project or two, watch the video to identify the special project cars for yourself.’

Update: 2022 GatorMOG Spring Noggin – St Augustine, FL – 6-8 May

We just got a call from the B&B in St Augustine (Agustin Inn (B&B) https://agustininn.com/ 29 Cuna Street, St Augustine, FL 32084).

All the rooms we had blocked for GatorMOG had now been filled. Wow!! A great turnout!!

We currently have 9 couples (perhaps 9 Morgans?) participating!  It should be a great weekend, unless the weather gets us!!

Central Florida participants will drive up to St Augustine on Friday (6 May).  Taking the back roads, the trip should be about 2-2.5 hours.  Convoy times and routes – TBD.  Folks coming from other locations are on their own.

We have a dinner reservation at the Columbia Restaurant on Friday evening at 6PM.

Saturday (7 May) breakfast will be at the B&B.  Then we will venture into town.  We do have some folks coming into town to join us for just the Saturday proceedings.

As of right now, we envision a trolley tour and some other shopping or site seeing.  We will work out the details when we get a bit closer to the date (and have a better idea of the weather!)  Lunch is likely where we find it!

Then, we have a dinner reservation for the Catch 27 Restaurant on Saturday (7 May) evening at 6PM.

Sunday, we all go home!

CANCELLED – Cars and Caffeine at Amelia, 4 – 6 March 2022

The annual Noggin MOGSouth Noggin, previously scheduled for Friday 4 March 2022 (this would have been our 9th year), has been cancelled.  With the sale of the Amelia Island Concours to Hagerty the Amelia Island Cars and Coffee event on Saturday 5 March 2022 has been in some way changed and it would appear that Morgans are no longer of interest.

As of this point in time, I have heard of no Morgans being accepted, myself included.  (And I know this is not due to the late submission of the application!)  I checked their web site daily and submitted my application as soon as I saw it was posted.

Given that our Noggin was directly tied to participation in the Cars and Caffeine event, it makes no sense to have an organized MOGSouth event. A Noggin without participants doesn’t make any sense at all.  I know many of you will have to cancel hotel bookings, dining reservations, etc., but it can’t be helped.   My apologies.

The Saturday morning convoy, from the Surf to the show, is also cancelled.

GatorMOG – Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Morgan’s 1962 Le Mans Win – Naples Overnight

Concept – GatorMOG Summer Outing – Long weekend.  The Morgan Class Victory at Le Mans in 1962 occurred on June 24th.  This year June 24th is a Friday and in Florida, it is getting hot in June.  So, for us, that means a meandering drive to Naples on the back roads.  For the Central Florida folks, it’s about ~5-5.5 Hours.  Perhaps we can work out some sort of convoy south?

I’d guess we’ll get there mid to late afternoon, check in to the hotel and find the bar and then find dinner!

Make sure you send an email RSVP to Mark Braunstein (series1@cfl.rr.com) to let him know that you are attending the event. He needs this for the restaurants and hotel head counts. (Oh, and the REVS!)

Hotel – Cove Inn on Naples Bay, 900 Broad Avenue South Naples, Florida 34102, www.coveinnnaples.com, Phone: 1-239-262-7161 or Toll-Free: 1-800-255-4365

We have a block of rooms being held under the group code of ‘Morgan.’  If you are participating, you need to make your own reservations, so call and select a room appropriate for you.  The block of rooms will only be held until May 24th and then they will be released.  If you wait too long, your choices of room types will be limited.  (They have several types of rooms available.)

Dinner – Friday Night (24 June) – TBD (Several Choices at the Hotel or Near By)

Breakfast – The hotel has a restaurant.

Depart for REVS Institute by 0945 (they open at 1000).  2500 Horseshoe Drive S., Naples, Florida 34104.  No need to buy a ticket from the REVS, we already have tickets (cheaper to buy from us!)

We do have to tell the REVS exactly how many folks to expect, so please let Mark B. know if you intend to participate.

Lunch – Saturday (Spanky’s Speakeasy Eatery & Spirits, Restaurant: (239) 643-1559)) Home – Spanky’s Speakeasy (spankysspeakeasy.com)

More REVS or other? The newly appointed Naples Morgan Dealer has invited us to swing by!!

2022 GatorMOG Spring Noggin – St Augustine, FL – 6-8 May

Per the Internet – The best time to visit St. Augustine is between March and May. During this time, you’ll find fewer people, comfortable temperatures and low hotel and airfare rates. Crowds are typically at their largest from June to August, while temperatures can drop into the 40s between December and February.  [So, we are going in the Spring! Mark]
