Good day MOG South Members – below please find information on the 2022 Holiday Party and additional information about Porsche. Changes in the hospitality industry and lack of volunteers to assist with planning have necessitated a significant increase in cost and I do apologize for that. Not attending the Holiday Party? Please send your $25 dues to me. Please direct all questions concerning the party to me.

2022 MOG South Holiday Party

Date: December 3, 2022

Time 6:00 pm

Location: Luciano’s Restaurant

6555 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097

Dinner will include Family style Fried Calamari for the table, choice of Tomato Basil Bisque or Caesar salad to start, entree choices of Gnocchi, Salmon, or Chicken Parmesan, and dessert choice of Tiramisu or NY Style Cheesecake. The cost of dinner also includes tea, coffee, white or red wine, and/or beer. This is an excellent restaurant that my family has been dining at for years. We will have a separate room for our festivities. There will not, however, be space for a silent auction. 

Menu Selections and payment must be received by November 25, 2022. No late submissions can be accepted.

Cost: $50 per person

Friday December 2: Noggin’ at Stacey’s House 4:30-6:30 pm – wine, beer, light refreshments, friendships renewed. No cost.

Saturday December 3: Guided tour of Porsche North American Headquarters/Porsche Experience Center at 11:00 am. Approximately 1 hour guided tour of the super cool place where I spend my Saturdays having the time of my life. Cost $10 per person. RSVP by November 25, 2022. PCNA is right next to Atlanta’s airport and easily accessed off highway 75 at 1 Porsche Drive, Atlanta, GA 30354. 

Additional Info – there is a good cafe (Carrera Cafe) to grab a light bite inside the facility. It’s fun to watch demo laps at 12:30 and you can also watch planes land/take off from Hartsfield. The original Chik-fil-A is around the corner. Note – traffic can be terrible so plan your leave time from PEC accordingly.

GatorMOG is the Morgan car owners club of Florida.  It is really a just a ‘US State specific’ subset of the greater MOGSouth. 

The Florida Morgan owners do like to get out and fly the Morgan car flag every now and again, with or without the parent club, MOGSouth.  The 60^th Anniversary of the Morgan Class win at the 1962 running of Le Mans seemed like a good opportunity to get out and show the cars in Florida. 

Daytona, FL has held endurance car racing since the early 1960s and now with the Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) 24 Hours of Daytona Classic, held annually, it just seemed right to commemorate the 1962 Morgan Class win at Le Mans at this year’s 24 Hours of Daytona Classic. 

The Morgan Owners of Florida worked with HSR to have a Morgan only car corral at the Daytona International Speedway and take a few parade laps of the famous track.  We had 17 Morgans.  We affixed a commemorative Racing Roundel #29 to our Morgans and adorned the Car Corral with photos and memorabilia of the 1962 Morgan Class win.
